I'm gunna put it out here right now - Abi and Lewis are one of the coolest couples I've ever met, and you are going to want to feast your eyes on their incredible wedding at Manchester's Victoria Baths!
It's no secret that Victoria Baths is one of my favourite ever wedding venues, and I feel so lucky to have now photographed two weddings there. Back in the day, it was my go-to venue for beer festivals, and I once even applied for a job there (told ya, I really love it) so to now be able to spend time there as a wedding photographer is an absolute dream!
Anyway, enough about me - onto this seriously brilliant bride and groom's stunning wedding day at Victoria Baths.
Victoria Baths wedding photography
The day started at Native Manchester, an incredible industrial hotel nestled inside Ducie Street Warehouse. The bride and her bridesmaids took over one of the breathtaking light and airy loft rooms for prep, whilst the groom and his groomsmen hunkered down in one of the atmospheric hotel rooms with moody lighting, bare stone walls and industrial accents galore. A classic Volkswagen Campervan whisked them off to Victoria Baths, where their perfectly thought out day unfolded amongst the history and splendour of the various swimming pools and Turkish baths.
From personal and handmade accents throughout, to the cake table to end all cake tables, to absolutely impeccable music all day long, this was one wedding I could happily relive over and over again. One of my absolute favourite moments was when Lewis revealed his first ever tattoo to Abi during their couples' portraits - he'd managed to keep it a surprise from her until the big day by hiding it under his watch! Why would I want to get married at Victoria Baths?
I mean... just look at it. Why wouldn't you want to get married at Victoria Baths?
But in all seriousness, there are loads of things that make this historic space perfect for weddings. First of all, it's enormous, so if you're planning a big wedding with tons of people, you're definitely not going to feel cramped here!
It's also a truly unique wedding venue; I don't think I've come across anything else like it. With three swimming pools, multiple Turkish baths, vintage changing stalls, striking tiles throughout, and a super cool upstairs area giving derelict chic (only usable for photos), every nook and cranny of this wedding venue is STUNNING.
If that wasn't enough, there's also a big car park to the side for guests to park in. Anyone who knows Manchester knows this is a big advantage!
Where can we actually get married at Victoria Baths?
The main ceremony space is the Gala Pool, the largest and most iconic space Victoria Baths has to offer. With an abundance of natural light, tons of space and absolutely beautiful interiors, it's the perfect place for both wedding ceremonies and receptions. The venue is fully licensed for ceremonies, so you can actually get married there (rather than getting married separately at a registry office, for example) and have your entire day there from start to finish. Easy peasy!
Catering options for weddings at Victoria Baths
Catering is super flexible thanks to a fully-fledged catering kitchen on site. Victoria Baths doesn't offer catering itself so you will need to organise this independently, but this allows for total flexibility in the type of wedding food you want to serve.
How accessible is Victoria Baths?
Despite being a historic building, efforts have been made to significantly improve accessibility for all guests and couples. However, it's definitely worth getting in touch with the team at Victoria Baths in advance to ensure that everything is set up as needed.
How do we get to Victoria Baths?
The venue is centrally located in Manchester, making it easily accessible by public transport. As I've already mentioned, there is on-site parking as well as plenty of nearby options should you need extra. It's less than a 10 minute drive from the centre of Manchester to Victoria Baths, so if you were to split your day between multiple Manchester city centre venues, travel between shouldn't be too taxing.
